Our Beloved Cliff Thomson has Passed Away

From Bruce Norton's FB Page:
For all those who are getting their information in bits and pieces, Wendy and I wanted to give you the full story about Cliff Thomson.

In the last 6 months Cliff had been noticing a loss of energy and on April 15 he checked himself into the hospital in Cape Coral, Florida. He was diagnosed with pneumonia, COPD, and pulmonary fibrosis. On April 26 he was moved to an acute care facility in Naples, Florida, where he passed away on May 6. He was sedated at the time and felt no pain. It was our privilege to be able to comfort Cliff during these few weeks and I spent many hours at the hospital with him, talking and joking and watching his favorite TV shows.

Cliff touched many lives very deeply during his 3+ decades of teaching at Loudoun Valley, and during his decades of work with the Washington Opera and other performing arts groups. He was a vital and beloved part of the Loudoun community, and he will be greatly missed by many people far and wide.

Because Cliff never liked people to make a fuss over him, no memorial service is planned at this time. Those wishing to honor his memory may make a donation to their local public radio station or performing arts group.
